Public Information Director
Michael Childs provides leadership in increasing public awareness as to how the faculty in the College contribute to society through their research and other academic activities. He maintains strong ties to major media outlets, publicizes faculty and program achievements, develops communication plans for faculty to inform the public about programs of research, instruction, or service in which they are engaged, and responds to queries from the media and other public or private constituencies. He assists faculty in grant or contract development by providing information about the College or university resources and directs follow-up publicity. Working with Julie Sartor and Troy Bassett, Michael Childs is responsible for the production of the College's annual magazine, the daily operation of the College's award-winning news website coeNEWS, and other College publications and promotions.
