Build a Strong Foundation for the Future

Over the past 100 years, the College has affirmed its founders’ aspirations, establishing a rich tradition preparing the nation’s most talented students for diverse careers in education.  The College will launch a twofold celebration of 100 years of excellence by:

  • establishing the Centennial Scholarship to benefit deserving College of Education students and
  • dedicating the Centennial Terrace to recognize alumni, faculty and friends who have brought the College to national and international acclaim over the past century.

The UGA College of Education will recognize all contributors of $100 or more to the Centennial Scholarship with an engraved built into in the new Centennial Terrace – Aderhold Hall’s new signature entry and outdoor gathering area.   This highly visible, central location on south campus will welcome the entire University community and serve as a hallmark of support from our loyal alumni, faculty and friends.

Whether you recognize our first century with a contribution of $100, $1,000 or $10,000, I encourage you to take part in this historical event.  Your gift will establish the Centennial Scholarship Fund – a permanent endowment at UGA that will recognize and support some of the most dedicated and talented education students.

All contributors who respond to this invitation by June 30, 2008 will receive an invitation to the College’s Centennial Terrace Dedication later this year.  This event will include the unveiling of the personalized brick terrace pavers and feature faculty and students representing every department in the College.

The Centennial Scholarship and Terrace Dedication is a unique and limited opportunity for alumni, faculty and friends to leave a tangible and lasting mark at the College of Education.  It is also a meaningful way to honor family members, fellow students, professors and mentors who have made a difference in your life and your career.

I hope you will join me in celebrating the founding of this century-old institution and be an inspiration for the future with your contribution to the Centennial Scholarship and Terrace Dedication.

Thank you in advance for your support and for all you have done to bring significance and pride to the University of Georgia’s College of Education.

Sincerely,

Andy Signature
