COE Centennial Scholarship

As a part of the celebration of 100 years of UGA’s College of Education, two Centennial Scholarships of $1,000.00 are being awarded. This award will be presented each year and recognizes a tradition of excellence in Education in all of its disciplines. This scholarship is open to both full-time graduate and full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled in the College with at least two semesters remaining who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. In addition to academic excellence, evidence of leadership ability and professional interest must be presented. Financial need will be considered. Three letters of recommendation are required, as well as a personal statement describing financial need for this scholarship OR a copy of the Student Financial Aid Award Status Letter, available on OASIS at http://oasisweb.uga.edu under Student Financial Aid Main Menu.  Please also provide an Oasis print-out to verify GPA. Students wishing to submit for this scholarship need to have all application materials turned in to Student Services no later than February 13, 2009.

Qualifications:
 

  1. Candidate must be enrolled in an approved undergraduate or graduate program in the College of Education.
  2. Scholarship is awarded for full-time study only.
  3. Candidate must have at least two semesters remaining in their degree program.
  4. GPA must be maintained in good standing. 

 

Application Procedures: 

  1. Application file must contain a completed, typed or neatly hand-written application form, a typed personal statement, an Oasis GPA print-out, and three letters of recommendation.
  2. Application must be completed and the three letters of reference must be submitted to the COE Student Services office [122 Aderhold Hall] by February 13, 2009.
