UGA continues to address the critical issue of protecting and securing sensitive and critical data through a role-based security training and accountability model called SecureUGA. Within this model, every individual, regardless of position, has a responsibility to protect and secure sensitive and critical data.
SecureUGA is comprised of three components: Policy and Procedures, Technology, and People. Of these three, People, are our most valuable asset toward protecting the University’s sensitive information. Building personal awareness and providing training and education regarding information security threats and preventative measures establishes a solid foundation for protecting sensitive and critical data.
Recognizing the importance of participation by the entire University community in this awareness program, individual UGA faculty, staff, and employed students will continue to be required to participate in annual self-paced online awareness module presentations.
