About OIT |
Project PortfolioThe Office of Information Technology is implementing a project portfolio model. This model will provide an opportunity to give OIT’s IT professionals leadership opportunities and increase cross team collaboration. The portfolio model is based on the Harvard Project Management process. Each project will be addressed in four phases: planning, build-up, main implementation, and phase-out. Each project has well-defined objectives, customer expectations, budget and timelines. A team lead is assigned to the project. The role of this leader is to select appropriate staff to serve as communications and professional development leads, implementers, managers, and quality control managers. The team lead will monitor the progress of the project using project management software. Each OIT project will be presented to the OIT leadership team for review before the project is added to the project portfolio. Additional Information:
